COPGendered
The COPGendered project started in January 2023 and runs for three years. It is co-funded by the European Union with the aim to build up tools, knowledge and methodologies for adult learners to upskill themselves (in groups, individually or with a teacher) in the inteconnections between gender inequality and the climate change. The associations involved are: WIDE+ (Europe), LIFE/GenderCC in Germany, WIDE in Austria, GADIP in Sweden, KULU Women and Development Denmark, Mundubat in Spain and CSCD in Bulgaria.
Project Activities
As a component of this project, a series of briefing papers were created, centering on the connection between gender and climate justice. We develop educational formats to inform adult learners across Europe about intersectional perspectives on climate change. In our briefing papers, we shed light on the connections between gender and climate change for climate justice. Our main target groups are trainers with a focus on environmental education, climate justice, sustainable education, women’s rights and gender equality. The briefings cover a total of six topics and are available in seven different languages:
- Gender and Climate Justice: Bulgarian, Danish, English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish.
- Climate Justice, Gender and LGBTIQ: Bulgarian, Danish, English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish.
- Climate Justice, Gender and Energy: Bulgarian, Danish, English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish.
- Climate Justice, Gender and Transport: Bulgarian, Danish, English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish.
- Gender and Climate-Induced Migration: Bulgarian, Danish, English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish.
- Climate Justice, Gender and Extractivism: Bulgarian, Danish, English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish.

All methodologies will be made available in English and the target groups are adult educators who engage with enviromental, women’s rights education.
E-learning Tool
This e-learning tool is designed to provide adult learners with a fundamental understanding of the connection between gender and climate justice. Its goal is to enrich the knowledge of a diverse group of adult learners. The modules will be accessible for free on the GenderCC’s Global Learning Platform. Consisting of six modules, learners can complete and access them independently. The topics covered align with the results of the other two projects: Gender & climate justice – introductory module; Climate Justice, Gender and LGBTIQ; Climate Justice, Gender and Energy; Climate Justice, Gender and Transport; Gender and Climate-Induced Migration; Climate Justice, Gender and Extractivism.
